Shelley Carroll Thessen's eulogy for her Dad
I have an incredibly smart, activist older sister and a handsome younger brother who is Phil Carroll the 30th...actually something like the 9th, but Daddy at times had an incredible way of making me feel like an only child.
I watched over the years and months, many of you spending time - - a little or alot, And Daddy had a way of making each and every one of us feel special. It wasn't just reserved for just us kids. It was a gift that Daddy had to help people feel good and comfortable.
Mom, as I read in a note from Glenn, you are a hero to us! You have showed us what relationship is. You truly showed us about 'until death do us part'.
Mom, I've been trying to sense what Daddy was communicating at the end. Dick and Jellis Moncure were friends of this church and our family. Most of you know Dick was known for saying at the end of a perfectly marvelous evening..."Jellis says I'm tired!" Well Mom, I believe Daddy was telling me - - "Your mother says I'm tired!" And it was a perfectly marvelous life!
