Vince Giordano was born in Brooklyn but grew up on Long Island. He began music
on violin but switched to tuba in the 7th grade. He joined the union at 14 and
played tuba with banjo bands on Long Island. He became interested in Bix's
music and met Bill Challis, a Goldkette-Whiteman arranger and spent many
Saturdays at his home. Vince joined the 22-piece Navy Show Band after
graduation and stayed until 1974. He then toured Europe with Eddie Davis,
played NY with Tony Parenti and Max Kaminsky, and toured with Clyde McCoy. He
organized his Nighthawks Orchestra and played NY's Red Blazer Too from 1974-84.
Today, Vince tours with numerous groups and has many recordings to his credit.
