TIM LAUGHLIN - CLARINET

TIM LAUGHLIN began playing clarinet at age 9. Not long after he fell in love with jazz from his hometown, New Orleans. His first paying job was playing on a Mardi Gras float with his school buddies at age 15. On his 17th birthday, Tim met Pete Fountain, who became his longtime friend and mentor. After high school, he formed his own band as well as performing with groups like the Dukes of Dixieland and Al Hirt. Since 1987, he has been a featured performer at the New Orleans Hilton. With six solo albums and four with the Dukes, Tim has already made a name for himself in New Orleans, Europe, the Far East and all four corners of the U.S. At 35, he remains one of the youngest jazz clarinetists born in New Orleans.
