Tom Bartlett is best known as a foremost exponent of the barrelhouse trombone style of his mentor, Turk Murphy. Tom, along with Kim Cusack, first recorded with Bob Schulz on a Windy City Wonders session for GHB Records in 1973. Remaining close friends over the years, they relish the memories of many jazz festivals in the 1980s where the original Salty Dogs Jazz Band (Bartlett, Cusack) and Turk Murphy's Jazz Band (Schulz) shared the stage. Tom appears on Schulz's recent Frisco Band cassette and CD and has recorded over 30 other traditional jazz releases.
