PETE SIERS was born in Saginaw, Mich. He received a degree in Music Education from Aquinas College and played with the College Jazz Ensemble, receiving awards for outstanding solo and rhythm section player. In '88, Pete moved to Ann Arbor to work with pianist Eddie Russ. He later became an original member of the award winning Paul Keller Orchestra. Pete has played many major jazz festivals including JVC, Newport, Sunfest, Playboy, North Sea Fest in Holland, Summit in Denver, Chatauqua, NY and Istanbul Festival in Turkey, as well as "The Jazz Cruise." He's also been an artist in residence at Purdue University and Emory University. Pete has performed with Lee Konitz, Warren Vache, Jay McShann, Mose Allison, Doc Cheatham, Sir Roland Hanna, Marian McPartland, and played Carnegie Hall with Andy Firth and Buddy DeFrance. He has a number of DCs to his credit as well.
